Frequently Asked Questions

Course content

What equipment will I need?

Even though our courses teach the art and craft of specialist paint effect techniques the equipment required to learn, practice and master each technique is readily available from high street shops and online art suppliers. Each course is accompanied by a detailed list of all the paints, glazes, tools and equipment you will need, which is available for download should you need to, once you have subscribed to your chosen course. If you do struggle to find any equipment or materials needed for the course you can always ask your course mates or Simon directly. As you have subscribed to one of our online courses, you will have exclusive access to the members' forum. There you will be able to share progress, exchange ideas, tips and tricks and recieve continued support from a community of like-minded people.

I have never tried paint effects before, is the course suited to me?

Absolutely! All of our courses have been carefully structured by a professional interior decorator and are suited for all abilities. When you enrol onto a course you will have unlimited access to course material for 12 months, including detailed step-by-step instructional videos and a variety of supplementary material to teach you the basics of the paint effect technique. You will be able to watch the videos at your own pace, as many times as you need until you have mastered the basics. From there it just takes practice and a bit of imagination to apply the paint effect to your own project. In addition to the course material you will also have exclusive access to the members' forum where you can ask your fellow course mates and Simon any questions you may have along the way.

How long will I have access to the online course tutorials?

Once you have purchased the course, the content is accessible online for up to 12 months, or, for as long as you are subscribed. You will have unlimited access to the course material during this 12 month or the length of your subscription should you choose to cancel earlier. We retain the right to remove account access at any time if we believe you have breached our Terms and Conditons - please read our terms and conditions and privacy policy before creating an account.

How much time will I need to complete the course?

The approximate total length of the Online Course videos is described on the course pages, just go to the Online Course page and click "find out more" to see this information. Once you have paid for an Online Course you will be able to complete the course in your own time. The course content will be available to you 24/7 for a full year, provided you adhere to our Terms and Conditions, so there is no need to rush. Practice makes perfect. You will not be restricted in the number of times you can watch our course videos after you have paid for the Online Course, so you can watch the videos over several times before you start.

What if I change my mind, can I get a refund?

For the Online Courses, if you have not accessed any of the course material or content and request a refund within the 14 day cooling off period you may be eligible for a refund. However, owing to the nature of the online course format, it will not be possible to offer a refund after the 14 day cooling off period or once the course has been accessed. For Studio Workshops and Online Events you may be eligible to a full refund if requested within the 14 day cooling off period provided the request is received 14 days prior to the start of the event/workshop. After the cooling off period you may be eligible to a partial refund. For further details please read our Terms and Conditions, or contact us.
