 FEATURE SPACES

Decorative paint effects can be used almost anywhere inside or outside of the home. Any of the rooms in the house can benefit from a little creative inspiration, whether it's the ceilings, the skirting boards, the windows or the walls.

Take this example, using an adaptation of the faux stone paint effects, the child's bedroom was transformed into a medieval hall, complete with stone walls and beamed ceilings.

Applying paint effects to create an amazing feature wall, a bespoke picture frame, a beautiful bathtub or even an elegant fireplace can transform and rejuvenate those favourite spaces in your home.

This one of a kind picture board is simple, yet a very effective focal point for any room. Made of MDF and using the faux woodgraining paint effect, it shows that any every day object can become a real talking point with family and friends.

With a little inspiration your imagination can make any room a work of art. My courses have been carefully crafted to bring out the artist in you. Whether you live in a cosy apartment, a modern bungalow, or a large detached house, you can change any area into your space.

With your new skills you can turn a simple wooden fire surround into a grand statement. This new fireplace surround was made by a carpenter and then using the faux marbling techniques, transformed into something magnificent.

Transform those everyday objects we all have around our homes into truly unique works of art. Whether it's that tired looking sideboard, an inexpensive MDF painted cupboard, a practical but mismatched coffee table or as shown here, an elegant, but plain free standing bath.

Utilising the techniques taught on the online and studio run faux marbling courses you will have all the skills you need to turn the bland into the beautiful and the everyday into the exceptional.

Working as an interior decorator for over 30 years, I have refined and adapted many of the centuries old traditional decorative paint effects to work with our modern paints and glazes. These paint effect techniques come in all types and finishes, so there will always be something to match your style and tastes.

From a simple colour wash to a complex and elaborate woodgrain or marble finish, something like the humble bath panel shown here, can be elevated into a something really special and turn the mundane into a masterpiece.
